ABOUT GOD THE FATHER
We believe in God as the Father, and creator of all. “It is he who made the earth by his power, who established the world by his wisdom, and by his understanding stretched out the heavens.” Jeremiah 51:15
ABOUT JESUS CHRIST THE SON
We believe in Jesus as the God Son and the center of all we are and do. Given to us, by God, in sacrifice, as redemption for our sins and as a direct access to God the Father. (John 14:6, 1 Timothy 2:5, John 3:16)
ABOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe in the Holy Spirit as an equal-value part of the holy trinity. Given to us as a gift and a helper. (John 14:26, Isaiah 11:2)
ABOUT THE TRINITY
We believe in the three equal parts of the trinity. Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
ABOUT THE BIBLE
We believe that the bible is the inspired word of God. The word of God is meant to lift, inspire, direct, correct and provide growth in all who study and share it. (2 Timothy 3:16-17, Hebrews 4:12)
ABOUT GIVING
We believe that giving is an out-loud, meaningful, and tangible expression of love and commitment. We believe that it is a requirement of all Christ followers as scriptures teaches. We believe that the limit should be established by God and the giver, with the understanding that “it is better to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35) and that giving should always be done joyfully and never reluctantly. (2 Corinthians 9:7, Luke 6:38)
ABOUT SALVATION
We believe that salvation, or eternal life, can only be found through the person and our Lord, Jesus Christ, as the singular way to God, our Father. (John 14:6, Romans 10:9-10)
ABOUT UNITY AND EQUALITY
We believe that there is a requirement of all Christians to unite under God’s grace, love and power. Making no differentiation based on race or gender, as we are all equal in the eyes of God, our Father. (Ephesians 4:3-6)
ABOUT MARRIAGE
We believe that God's institution of marriage was intended to be shared between 1 man and 1 woman. Any other forms of marriage are not recognized, according to scriptures. (Genesis 2:24, Ephesians5)
ABOUT WATER BAPTISM
We believe that just as Jesus was baptized as a consenting adult, so should all who make an individual decision to be baptized. We adopt only the belief in credo-baptism. Each believer is responsible, at a consenting age, to make their own decision for fully-immersed water baptism. We believe that baptism is a necessary and urgent response to the gospel, as seen in scripture. (Acts 2:38, Mark 16:16, Romans 6:4)
ABOUT JUSTICE
We believe that scripture always leads us towards justice. All believers are called to do justice, correct oppression, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with God. At One Life we believe that racism and prejudice is sin. (Micah 6:8, Isaiah 1:17, Amos 5:24)
ABOUT HOLINESS AND RIGHTEOUSNESS
We believe that holiness and righteousness may only be achieved by accepting Jesus as our savior so that we may be washed clean of our wicked, deceitful and selfish ways and be made new in our minds by God and His Spirit on the inside of us. As well as adhering to the teachings of Jesus and making every effort to be just like Him. (Ephesians 4:20-24, Philippians 1:10-11, Hebrews 12:14, 1 Peter 3:11-12)
ABOUT HEAVEN AND HELL
We believe that only one life is lived on earth. Those who surrender to God and have faith in Jesus will be saved. All those who reject Jesus and remain unbelievers will spend eternity in hell. We believe that there is only one way to heaven, through Jesus Christ. (Revelation 21:4, John 14:2, John 14:6, Matthew 25:46, John 3:36)
