DEEPER ROOTS IN SMALLER SPACES
"And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers."
Acts 2:42
Starting in 2026, One Life will be launching small groups as a way to bring the larger church into smaller spaces of growth, community, prayer, and spiritual development.

FAQs
What is a LifeGroup?
A LifeGroup is a small, close-knit group that meets regularly to build authentic relationships, grow in faith, and walk through life together (Acts 2:46–47). The Gospel—the good news of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection—unites us, not shared interests or backgrounds. LifeGroups meet in homes, following the New Testament model. They’re not classes or just another Bible study, but spaces for real community and spiritual growth. Each group meets bi-weekly for about 90 minutes. Starting January 2026, we’ll have three LifeGroups meeting in Island Park, Baldwin, and Hempstead.
What happens in a LifeGroup?
LifeGroups center on learning God’s Word (the bible) together and applying it to daily life through honest discussion, striving to be doers of the Word. They provide a safe space to share struggles, find encouragement, worship God, and pray for one another—lifting each other’s burdens before Him.
How does a LifeGroup benefit me?
● Deeper relationships – The Christian life isn’t meant to be lived alone. The Bible calls the church a Body, with each believer playing a vital role. In your LifeGroup, you can be known, cared for, and guided biblically as you follow Christ. Life can be hard, but God calls us to strengthen and encourage one another as His Body.
● Gospel transformation – The Holy Spirit works through community to shape us into Christ’s likeness, reminding us of God’s grace and truth in love. LifeGroups are a launchpad for living out our faith—when the Gospel fills our hearts, it naturally overflows into our neighborhoods, workplaces, and cities.

Who will lead the groups?
- The Island Park group is led by The Nelsons and the Marro family, and they meet 2 Wednesdays a month, starting on January 7th & 21st from 7:30p-9pm.
- The Baldwin group is led by The Smiths and the Davis family, and they meet 2 Wednesdays a month, starting on January 14th & 28th from 7:30p-9pm.
- The Hempstead group is led by The Moyas and the Wellington family, and they meet 2 Fridays a month, starting on January 16th & 30th from 7:30p-9pm.
LifeGroup Leaders are carefully selected and trained over 3–4 months in teaching, prayer, counsel, and hospitality. They’re equipped to create a welcoming environment where people can grow in faith, build meaningful relationships, and experience genuine community.
Committed to the vision of LifeGroups and the beliefs of One Life, they model a life of discipleship and service. They lead with humility, compassion, and faith—meeting people where they are and helping them take their next step in following Jesus.
Where will we meet?
Starting January 2026, LifeGroups will be available in Island Park, Baldwin, and Hempstead. Specific details and addresses will be shared with those who register closer to the start date.
Who can join?
Anyone 18 and older—single, married, or divorced—who considers One Life their church home is welcome to join a LifeGroup.
What happens if the groups are full?
Because LifeGroups meet in homes, each group can host only 12–14 people. Once a group reaches capacity, you’ll need to wait until new LifeGroups begin. In the meantime, we encourage you to join a discipleship class and continue serving at church.
How can I lead a LifeGroup?
Our LifeGroups are currently led by couples who are opening their homes to create spaces of connection, growth, and discipleship.
